GEORGE TOWN: A senior cashier at a bank here has been arrested for stealing RM 1.5 million that was supposed to be deposited in the safe deposit room of the bank in Lebuh Bishop.

He hid the remaining RM 590,000 in a secluded corner on the first floor and ground floor of the bank."The bank only discovered the money missing last Tuesday when officers conducting a balance sheet inventory check found discrepancies in the amount recorded and actual cash in the safe deposit room."
